We've now traveled 590 miles, and getting close to 10% of the total journey. We've now made it 63.6 miles past Charlotte, pictured above, and are now on our way to Atlanta, Georgia. I'll update us tomorrow with our current location, along with the distance left to go to Atlanta.
A little bit about Charlotte, the largest city in North Carolina. Charlotte has many nicknames, including the Queen City, Hornet's Nest, and the Gem of the South. Charlotte is home to the NFL Panthers and the NBA Bobcats.
And one final note, in 2007 Charlotte was named the fourth best "Walking City" in the country. Sounds like a good destination for us!
