12.7 Miles to Lauren, South Carolina

Not exactly a big city, but it is right on our route, and looks like a nice place.

So what's next past Lauren?  The Georgia line is about 97.7 miles away, with Atlanta about 175.4 miles away from our current location.

After Atlanta we'll be heading west, with the major stops along the route in Birmingham, Little Rock, Albuquerque, Phoenix, and then California!  Then we'll be heading back east, but we've got a while before we'll be doing that.

Just a couple of milestones today, we are now past the 10% mark on our journey, so keep up the good work everyone!

Today I became our second member of the century club, reaching 100 total miles.  Ann is getting closer and closer to becoming the third on our team to reach 100!

After that Lynn and Betty Ann have both reached double digits (actually both have gone more than 20 miles), but nobody else has more than 10.

But Mom promised me that she'll put in 6 miles over the next week, and Mike and Michelle will be back from their honeymoon soon, and I'm counting on both of them to get some miles logged!

Keep up the great work everyone, we are a lot further than I thought we'd be at this point!  Remember, every bit counts.  Rome wasn't built in a day, and like the old Chinese proverb says -

“It is better to take many small steps in the right direction than to make a great leap forward only to stumble backward.”
